Bay Of Naples

Line moves fast in Bay of Naples, wobbling, stopping, starting again like handwriting. Some strokes drag dry, like crayon over rough paper. Cy Twombly built a career on marks that sit between writing and drawing. Pressure and speed both show. The framed poster pairs that line with 250gsm matte uncoated paper behind shatterproof plexiglass. The surface stays quiet, so the thin strokes do not wash out under a lamp or a bright ceiling light. Near a window, most prints pick up reflections. The low glare of the plexiglass keeps the faint marks visible instead. At reading distance, the dry drag of each stroke shows plainly.
