Bay Of Naples

The title names a real place, and the marks act it out. Loose scrawls read as wind over water, warm patches as sun on the Italian coastline of the Bay of Naples. Cy Twombly lived and worked mostly in Italy from the late 1950s. The print hangs from pine wood hangers, top and bottom, with magnets holding a sheet of 250gsm matte paper. No glass sits in front. A closed door can make the light sheet shift slightly. A kitchen or an entry wall is a natural home for it, where a heavy frame would feel like too much. The pine bar above and below gives the picture a plain, warm ending.
