Iii Notes From Salalah

Clusters of handwriting sit between long gaps of nothing, the pace of someone taking notes on the spot. Cy Twombly caught a trip in III Notes from Salalah (Note II), jotted down while the place was still in front of him. You can take the poster with hangers in three different sizes, all with the same silhouette, so a pair stacks one under the other up a stairwell. Bigger sizes let each burst spread out; the hangers hold it flat. Beside a front door, at chest height, the bursts carry from down the hall. Nearer, the gaps count for just as much, and the hurry in the scribble turns visible.
