About this work

Min-oe

Half letters and loose loops fill Min-oe, drawn fast and abandoned just as fast. Pressure shows where the hand slowed. In the calligraphic work of Cy Twombly a stroke is allowed to fail and stay put. That is intent, not a slip. The framed poster comes in oak or ash, each length of moulding carrying its own grain, 20mm thick and 20mm wide, heavier than a slim 14mm frame. That weight matters on a print this wide. A study or a narrow entry is the right spot for this shape. Hung at the height where you greet people, the scrawl sits like a signature above the coat pegs.
