About Quarzeat

Half-written, half-drawn, the scrawl in Quarzeat never settles into plain words. Cy Twombly often let a sign do the job of an image, and the coined title behaves the same way. The name is more sound than meaning. Two pine strips with magnets hold the sheet at top and bottom, so the hangers grip without a frame. The 250gsm matte paper hangs flat, with no shine. Pine keeps the whole thing light on the nail. It suits an entryway at eye height. From the door you catch the title first; a step closer and the loose strokes take over. The bare wood adds a pale edge at each end.
